Have you ever ordered food from a menu because you thought the picture on the inside flap looked amazing? Then when you got that meal delivered to your table, it looked (and tasted) less than appealing? That's the way this book was for me. The initial description (woman seeking out a stronger relationship with her daughter stumbles across a romance that she never anticipated) sounded like a great escape book. I fell for the plot, but the characters fell short. The way that Evans writes is enjoyable and creates amazing visual imagery, but for some reason, when events happened to the main characters where I should feel empathy, I felt nothing. It was an okay read. I usually never say this, but I liked the movie a lot better. (This may be the only time I have ever said this...)
